CAT Pickering names Jodi Brown as Senior of the Month for May & Christina Hall for June

Phoenixville, PA - The Center for Arts & Technology Pickering Campus is proud to announce that Jodi Brown, a senior in the Health Occupations program has been named the student of the month for May. Christina Hall, a senior in the Early Childhood Care & Education program has been named the student of the month for June.

Activities and Accomplishments of Jodi Brown:

  • Vice-president of the senior class
  • Health Occupations Students of America President
  • Member of National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society
  • Tour guide and involved in recruitment
  • SkillsUSA (9th-12th grades) - Officer in 11th and 12th grades
  • Liberty Fire Company - volunteer firefighter
  • Royersford Hook and Ladder Volunteer firefighter. She is also a ride-along with the ambulance crew. She will begin EMT schooling in September.
  • Autism Respite Program volunteer

Jodi is an all-around excellent student and leader in the school. Her smile reinforces her positive attitude, which is a shining beacon throughout the hallways. She worked at Forresta’s for two years and also at the Spring Valley YMCA as a swim instructor. She will attend Delaware County Community College in the fall and pursue a nursing degree.

Activities & Accomplishments of Christina Hall:

Christina is a four-year, A-average outstanding student in the Childcare program. A new member of the National Technical Honor Society, Christina is also a SkillsUSA member who attended the Gettysburg Leadership Conference, a FCCLA officer, and member of the CAT Pickering flag football and spring softball teams.

Christina won a silver medal in her Anti-Bully presentation at the FCCLA State Leadership Conference. Currently, Christina is preparing her Shaken Baby Syndrome Presentation for the 2008 FCCLA STAR EVENT and senior project. Christina will receive the POWER OF ONE award in 2008 as well.

Christina has taken her Penn State Betterkid Care Distance education to a higher level in the classroom by preparing parent newsletters and parent education packets to help preschoolers prepare for Kindergarten.

Christina plans to attend Kutztown University to pursue a degree in elementary education. Christina has completed her Child Development Associate Ready trainings in an impressive portfolio that will serve her well in her journey. Christina has been on co-op for the third and fourth semesters of her senior year where she put to use all her trainings. She also works at the Spring Valley YMCA.
