About Us

The Center for Arts & Technology is operated by the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) on behalf of the 12 school districts of Chester County, Pennsylvania. It is A Middle States Association Accreditation for Growth (AFG) recognized school, 2000-2005.

Campuses

The Center for Arts & Technology has two campuses:

CAT Brandywine is located in Coatesville in central Chester County, Pennsylvania.

CAT Pickering is located in Phoenixville in northern Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Exceed Your Dreams with a Career & Technical Education

There are many reasons why a student should enroll in a career and technical education program. Some of these reasons include:

• Acquiring the technical skills necessary to obtain a successful and rewarding career.
• Graduates of career and technical programs are more likely to be employed, earn more and have greater job stability than their peers.
• Among the highest paid workers are those in craft, precision metal and specialized repair industries.
• Since professional occupations make up only 20% of all jobs, students with career and technical training are highly sought after.

Educational Options

Students may choose from the following educational options:

• Full-day program. Students may elect to spend the entire school day at the Pickering campus. A full-day option is available at the Brandywine campus for students enrolled in the School-to-Career Transition Program or by special arrangements for grades 11 and 12.
• Half-day program. Student may also elect to spend one-half of the school day at the Brandywine Campus or Pickering Campus and the other half day at their home school. Courses are available both in the morning and again in the afternoon unless otherwise indicated in the course description.
