Co-op Program - CAT Pickering
The objectives of the Co-op Program are to connect classroom learning with work-based learning experiences, prepare students for the move from classroom to worksite, support supervised on-the-job training, and help students make career decisions.
SCOPE
Co-op provides career and technology education students with experiences in their specialized areas of training. Through co-op these students will finalize their formal in-school technical training with related employment experiences at school-approved work sites. Co-op is open to seniors and some 4th quarter juniors. Participants receive their academic course work each day and are then permitted to leave campus and report to their employer’s worksite. Co-op jobs must be related to the student’s occupational program.
QUALIFICATIONS

POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

CHARACTERISTICS FOR SUCCESS
Reliable, prompt, willing to listen and learn, team worker, safe worker, organized.
