Course of Study - Practical Nursing Program
The Practical Nursing Program consists of 1635 hours of study with classes entering a minimum of twice each year. There are four levels ranging from 393 to 414 hours in length. All snow days must be made up. The program has both a full-day option and a part-time evening option.
Classroom instruction is given at the Center for Arts and Technology - Brandywine Campus. Clinical experience is concurrent and sequential with classroom instruction through the cooperation of the Chester County Hospital, Pocopson Home, Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, Brandywine Hospital, Devon Manor, Neighborhood Health Agencies, Veterans Administration Medical Center and community clinical care experiences.
- For the full-day option, classes meet Monday through Friday. Class/clinical times vary between the hours of 7:30 AM-3:30 PM depending upon class level and clinical experience.
- For the part-time option, classes meet anywhere between 4:00-10:30 PM and clinical is 3:15-10:15 PM. Times vary based on course and Level of enrollment. Class/clinical days of the week will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday (three (3) days per week). Courses in Levels III and IV may require a four (4) night per week commitment (no Friday, Saturday or Sunday).
