Culinary Arts
The Culinary Arts program prepares students for successful and rewarding careers in the production aspect of the food service industry. The production curriculum includes training in food preparation, short order and high-volume cooking, baking, customer service, safety and sanitation.
Students develop hands-on skills in production by operating an in-school restaurant, catering service, and conducting bake sales.
Classroom instruction also prepares students to successfully complete the examination and licensing requirements of the Chester County Health Department to obtain their Food Manager Certification through the ServSafe program.
Career Opportunities:
The expanding food service industry provides rapid advancement for skilled workers along with personal and professional satisfaction. Employment opportunities are available in restaurants, hotels, catering, bakeries and institutional food service facilities. Articulation agreements exist with post-secondary institutions for this program.
