2010 Chester County Science Research Competition

Over 400 aspiring young scientists annually turn out for the Chester County Science Research Competition.

CCSRC Mission Statement

Lucy Balian Rorke Fair (Grades 6 through 12)

When: Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Where: Center for Arts & Technology (Pickering Campus), 1680 Charlestown Road, Phoenixville, PA

The "Competition Day Schedule" is as follows:

  • 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. - Arrival and Set Up
  • 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. - Special Program
  • 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Judging of projects
  • 12:30 p.m. - Dismissal of students
  • 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. - Open House (projects are on display for the public)
  • 7:00 p.m. - Breakdown and removal of projects

Awards Ceremony – March 8 at 7 p.m. at the Downingtown West High School, 455 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA. Only those students who have an award designation attached to their project board are asked to attend.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all students advancing to the Delaware Valley Science Fair immediately after the grades 6 - 12 awards program. If you do not attend, you will not be permitted to go to the Del-Val Science Fairs.


Jonas Salk Fair (Grades 4 and 5)

When: Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Students are judged in categories at seven levels:

  • Level A - 12th grade students
  • Level B - 11th grade students
  • Level C - 10th grade students
  • Level D - 9th grade students
  • Level E - 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students
  • Level F - 4th & 5th grade students
  • Team Projects - 4th through 12th grade students


Applications will only be accepted from participating schools where the CCSRC School Coordinator has met all the necessary requirements. All projects and related questions should be directed to your CCSRC School Coordinator.

Homeschool students who live in Chester County may participate in the Chester County Science Research Competition through the Chester County Homeschool Association. Please contact Margaret Greene via e-mail or by calling 610-917-1062.
