CDC Facilities and Programs

The Child Development Center is a multifaceted educational facility serving exceptional students in grades kindergarten through 12.

The Child Development Center offers a full array of programs to meet the needs of students with severe disabilities including:

Students are evaluated and placed in academic classes with other students of similar age, social skills and functional abilities.

Each class is limited in size, and is staffed with a certified teacher and at least one instructional assistant.

Students are provided with a progressive individualized educational program in a structured setting.

Elective courses in music, swimming, art and adventure education are available to students.

Many related support services are provided for students with specialized needs, including:

  • work study
  • speech therapy
  • physical and occupational therapy
  • vision and hearing therapy
  • adaptive physical education
  • extended school year programs
