Preschool Special Education Services (fka Early Intervention)

Welcome to the Chester County Intermediate Unit's (CCIU) Preschool Special Education Services home page. This site is an introduction to programs and services that CCIU provides to eligible young children throughout Chester County.

Preschool Special Education Services, designed for children with special needs and developmental delays, represents only one of several programs offered by the Chester County Intermediate Unit for young children. The CCIU offers a vast array of programs and services for eligible young children between the ages of three and five years old.

Preschool Special Education Services are provided free of charge to children and their families who reside in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Parents, agency personnel, preschools, day care providers and medical practitioners may refer a child for screening and evaluation. If a child is found to need Special Education Preschool Services, an individualized education plan (IEP) is developed and the appropriate services are arranged.
