Training and Consultation - Occupational/Physical Therapy
The occupational therapists provide consultation services to teachers and other school-based personnel throughout Chester County. Students referred for OT consultation may be experiencing difficulty functioning in the classroom due to fine motor, sensory motor, handwriting and/or organization issues. Students referred for PT consultation may be exhibiting gross motor concerns.
Services
- Observe students and provide written reports including observations with specific strategies to enhance student’s classroom performance.
- Suggest and/or provide adapted learning materials when appropriate.
- Provide on-site guided practice for pencil grasp, handwriting, scissors skills, computer ergonomics, organization and fine motor and movement activities.
- Present workshops on topics such as handwriting, fine motor skills, sensory modulation and classroom ergonomics.
