CCIU board of directors considers 2008-09 organizational goals

Each year, in July, the Chester County Intermediate Unit Board of Directors approves the organizational goals for the year. Prior to their approval, the board solicits staff and community members for input while developing the goals for the upcoming year.

Below please find a list of suggested goals for the 2008-09 school year. If you would like to comment on the proposed goals, or suggest additional ones, please e-mail Eileen White, CCIU board secretary.

  1. Continue work on Chapter 14: Staff Development for Paraprofessionals; CCIU Strategic Plan; New progams for CTE division
  2. Innovation goal: Make the Chester County Intermediate Unit the leader in innovation throughout the state.
  3. Streamline all CCIU forms: Investigate going paperless.
  4. Conduct a staffing, enrollment and facilities analysis of career, technical and customized education, the Child & Career Development Center, and preschool programs.
  5. Conduct a staffing, enrollment and facilities analysis of Devereux 1306 students to determine if it is feasible to develop CCIU programs to better serve this student population.
  6. Develop curriculum for all CCIU k-12 programs.
  7. Review all CCIU hiring practices.
  8. Establish and enrollment growth rate of 5 percent for CTE students.
  9. Provide ongoing Act 1 information to school districts.
  10. Finalize and complete the construction of the Chester County Technical College High School.
  11. Reduce CCIU energy consumption by five percent.
  12. Conduct CCIU strategic planning.
