How to change LibreOffice preferences to automatically save documents with Microsoft extensions (For Mac)
 
 
1. Macinotsh: Open LibreOffice, click on LibreOffice and choose Preferences

2. Double click on Load Save
 
 
3. Click once on General
 
 
4. Under "Document Type" change the Text, Spreadsheet and Presentation document types as follows:
 
 Mac Word
Mac Excel  
Mac PowerPoint  
 
 
 5. Click Mac OK Button button when finished.
 
 
*Note: This method is identical for OpenOffice.
