SpectiCast Events for Schools

Ticketing costs are split with CCIU for student scholarships, and SpectiCast for promotional costs. CCIU has partnered with PAIUnet and SpectiCast, the fastest growing all-digital private network company in NorthAmerica, to distribute film, cultural, and concert events to schools in Pennsylvania and beyond.

This spring, you can broadcast this HD content into your school auditorium, transforming your performance space into a community theater. These events can fund-raise for your important programs, including the arts, drama and music classrooms that are often the first to feel tightening budgets. Bring back the money, the audience, and the passion for performance in your school district! Ticket sales are split with your school, with CCIU for student scholarships, and with SpectiCast for administrative costs. 100% of concession sales are yours to keep!

(Ticket breakdown shown at right is for an $8 ticket; your school can set your ticket prices.)

When is the deadline to sign up?

How do I set up my auditorium?
For the best viewing experience, seek the largest screen possible for your stage and the highest-quality HD-ready projector owned by your district. Consult with your technology or audio-visual experts to hook into your venue's sound system. You will also want to find a modern laptop capable of playing 1080p video, and an HDMI or DVI cable connection (not VGA). Upon registration, we will send you a link to a comparable video, so you may run a test and be sure your equipment is up to the job. The week before the event, we will also make the full movie available to you so a dress rehearsal can be conducted. Be sure to also consider recruiting students as ushers, ticket-takers, and concession sellers.

How do I connect to the HD stream?
The night of the event, you will log on to PAIUnet's Video On-Demand Library and enter a special code you have been issued. You are encouraged do this several hours before the event, so the video can pre-load (buffer) to your computer. Enter Full-Screen mode at showtime, and you'll be set!

Is there a way to test my connection?
Upon registration, we will send you a link to a comparable video, so you may run a test and be sure your equipment is up to the job. The week before the event, we will also make the full movie available to you so a dress rehearsal can be conducted. Tell me more about what the Philadelphia Orchestra will be performing.
Live from Verizon Hall at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Philadelphia Orchestra will perform Symphony No. 6 (“Pastoral”) with Simon Rattle, Conductor, and Barbara Hannigan, Soprano (Philadelphia Orchestra Debut). Featured in Disney’s Fantasia, the “Pastoral” Symphony paints vivid scenes of gathering thunderstorms, wandering brooks, and breezy countrysides. Both Webern’s Passacaglia and Berg’s Wozzeck received their U.S. premieres in Philadelphia as part of Stokowski’s vision for 20th-century music. Barbara Hannigan stuns audiences with her dramatic portrayal (and provocative costuming) in scenes from Ligeti’s thrilling opera, Le Grande Macabre.
What if it snows or the event is cancelled?
Should you encounter severe inclement weather, CCIU and SpectiCast will work with customers to reschedule their event and provide a recording of the Philadelphia concert.
