Even Start

Even Start program is a family literacy program. Services are provided through a combination of center-based and home-based components. Primary services include:

  • adult education,
  • early childhood education,
  • parenting education, and
  • Parent And Child Together (PACT) activities.

A family unit qualifies for Even Start services if there is a child between the ages of birth and eight years and a parent eligible for Adult Basic Education. These services are offered in the Avon Grove and Kennett Consolidated School Districts only. There is no fee for this service.

For more information, please contact Deborah Hertzfeld-Miller, Even Start program coordinator, at (610) 869-8970.
