Learning support (neurologically impaired) programs provide individualized learning experiences for students, ages five through 21 years old, who have a chronic condition of presumed neurological origin in oral expression, written expression, basic reading skills, reading comprehension, mathematical calculation and mathematical reasoning.  Specially designed instruction develops functional skills ranging from survival and self-help to basic academic skills.

The primary goal is to increase cognitive and academic achievement and to increase basic interpersonal skills.

This Learning Support program provides academic support services for students in grades 9-12 whose skills allow them to function within a regular educational setting.  Students are included in regular education classes whenever appropriate, from a minimum of lunch, vocational education, and physical education to all academic/vocational areas with support.  A continuum of services is provided.  The level of intervention is determined by the studentÕs needs.

The primary goal of this program is to increase studentÕs academic skills for successful integration in regular education and in the world of work.
