This summer, study with Brandywine Virtual Academy, the online program for students who want to expand their options while remaining a member of their public school district. Use the summer months to catch up on credits you need, or get ahead of next year’s busy schedule by getting needed credits out of the way! All summer school courses are taken online for high school credit. Each session will begin with a mandatory online orientation class in which students will learn how to use the tools needed to take courses online. After that, students can work at their own pace, as long as they finish their course work by the close of the class on August 9th. This style of learning offers the maximum amount of flexibility, while providing a rich course experience that ensures you have mastered the concepts.
Our summer program is split into three sessions so that you can choose a timeline that's right for you:

I don't see a course I need or want on the list above. Do you offer more courses? We're always expanding our offerings to meet student need and demand. Contact us to ask about a course you need!
* Are there any course materials required?
* Courses above with a single asterisk (*) have some materials or minimum technology requirements. Please contact us to find out about these before registering, to be sure your home computer can properly facilitate the course.
Is there an add/drop period?
There is; for the Jump Start and True Summer sessions, you have 15 business days after the start of the class or your enrollment date (whichever is later) to drop a course if it isn't working for you. For the Credit Recovery session, the drop period ends July 10th at 4:00PM.
Which session is right for me?
First, Credit Recovery is only for students who have failed a course and want to try it again. If that's not you, then you're looking at the Jump Start or True Summer sessions. The next question to ask yourself is, "What course do I need?" Look at the course lists and try to find the classes you want or need to take. If you are just looking to get ahead, and you don't need a specific course, then you should decide based on when you want to do the majority of the work. If you'd rather not start until your regular school year ends in June, then the True Summer session is probably right for you. If you want the most time possible to work on the subject, you might want to opt for the Jump Start session.
