The ultimate goal of the Chester County Intermediate Unit
Practical Nursing Program is to graduate the most highly prepared students. As
such, upon completion of PNP, the graduate will:
the nursing process in giving safe, effective care to patients with
scientific principles in administering nursing care.
appropriate manual skills in giving patient care.
adaptive abilities to meet the individual patient's needs based on a
complete head-to-toe assessment.
holistic health care delivery in each individual patient's situation.
medications that are within the legal scope of practice with 100%
the nursing process for accurate documentation.
in a professional, mature, understandable way to patients, families and
members of society concerning health care.
patients, families and members of society with special needs to community
health care within the legal framework of a practical nurse.
safe health care practices to consumers.
appropriate patient teaching to patients regarding their disease process,
medications, diet, or other related concerns.
in continuing educational opportunities at place of employment, community
locations and/or journals of nursing.

pass the NCLEX - PN Exam.
