Lucy Balian Rorke Science Research Competition for Grades 6 - 12, March 2, 2010

Hundreds of aspiring young scientists turn out annually for the Lucy Balian Rorke Science Research Competition. This year, sixth through 12th grade students will compete on March 2, 2010 at the Center for Arts & Technology Pickering Campus in Phoenixville, Pa. The Chester County Science Research Competition (CCSRC) is dedicated to encouraging, supporting and developing scientific inquiry and discovery through individual and team science projects conducted by elementary, middle and high school students. We believe that students are the foundation of our nation’s future. Their understanding and accomplishments in science and technology will prepare them to become the leaders of tomorrow and successful citizens in our technologically advancing society. The schedule for the day of the competition is as follows: - 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. - Arrival and Set Up - 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. - Student Assembly - 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Judging of projects - 12:30 p.m. - Dismissal of students - 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Open House (projects are on display for the public) - 7:00 p.m. - Breakdown and removal of projects Students may compete in any one of the following categories: - Behavioral and Social Science - Biochemistry - Botany - Chemistry - Computer Science - Consumer Science - Earth & Space Science - Engineering - Environmental Science - Mathematics - Medicine & Health - Microbiology - Physics - Zoology - Team
