Head Start

Each year,over 450 economically disadvantaged children in Chester County participate in Head Start. Currently, the CCIU operates nine Head Start centers throughout the county. They are located in Coatesville (3), Kennett Square, Oxford, Phoenixville, West Chester, and West Grove.

Active parental involvement is required.

Head Start classes are held in half-day sessions (mornings and afternoons), Monday through Thursday.

Head Start is a federally- and community-funded program.
