IU teacher wins Citadel Heart of Learning High School Teacher Award

THORNDALE, PA — The winners of the seventh annual Citadel Heart of Learning Award were announced Tuesday evening at a banquet held at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PA, and among the winners was CCIU teacherr Dr. Megan Lynott. Dr. Lynott, the instructor of the allied health science program at the Center for Arts & Technology Brandywine Campus, was selected as the recipient of the High School Citadel Heart of Learning Award. Dr. Lynott share the Citadel Heart of Learning award honors with Mary Kay McCann from Octorara Elementary School and Krista Venza from Owen J. Roberts Middle School, the elementary and middle school award winners, respectively. The three teachers were selected from over 2800 nominations for teachers from Chester County's 12 public school districts and nearly 100 non-public and charter schools.

Citadel Heart of Learning finalists announced.

THORNDALE, PA — Citadel representatives have been traveling across Chester County to present the Citadel Heart of Learning Award to 15 well-deserving teachers. These teachers were selected from more 2800 nominations written by students, parents and school administrators.

Chester County students compete against one another at PA regional computer fair

Downingtown, PA - From digital movies to web page design to multimedia presentations, Chester County middle and high school students displayed their high tech skills at the 2008 Pennsylvania Regional Computer Fair at the Chester County Intermediate Unit. Over 100 middle and high school students competed at the Chester County competition. First place winners will advance to the Pennsylvania State Computer Fair in Carlisle, PA in May.

CAT Brandywine students return victorious from competition

Seven students from the Center for Arts & Technology (CAT) Brandywine Campus clipped, soldered, bandaged, wired, talked and motored their way to a first place finish at the Skills USA Pennsylvania regional competition. Another 15 students placed second; and six came in third place.

Going green brings home the gold!

Phoenixville, PA – Going green earned students at the Center for Arts & Technology Pickering Campus a first place finish in the Pennsylvania State DECA Competition. Going green was the theme of the year-long public relations campaign initiated by students in the school’s DECA chapter, an international association of high school and college students studying marketing, management, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, sales and service.

Student Spotlight: Andy Plum - Wired for success!

Phoenixville - Andy Plum, a senior in the electrical occupations/telecommunications program at the Center for Arts & Technology Pickering Campus, is wired for success. A member of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society, Plum excels both in his academic and technical studies. He has proven himself in local, regional and state competitions and placed first in the state in the 2007 Pennsylvania Skills USA Competition in the residential wiring event.

Sean Bradish Named CAT Pickering's January Student Of The Month

Phoenixville, PA - The Center for Arts & Technology Pickering Campus is proud to announce that Sean Bradish, a senior majoring in electronics, has been named the Student of the Month for January 2008.

Introducing the Keystone Shining Star award program

22 automotive service technology students have been accepted to DCCC

Coatesville, PA – Twenty-two students enrolled in the Automotive Service Technology program at Center for Arts & Technology (CAT) Brandywine Campus have been accepted to Delaware County Community College (DCCC). The 22 high school juniors and seniors will begin earning credit towards their associate’s degree in applied science immediately – that’s right immediately. The students are dually enrolled at the Center for Arts & Technology Brandywine Campus and DCCC.

Kennett students take best of show

Coatesville, PA – The Center for Arts & Technology Brandywine Campus is proud to announce the winners of its 23rd Annual Holiday Flower Show. Students from Kennett High School swept the Best of Show category. Yamaira Romero from Kennett High School placed first in the Best of Show. The horticulture major shared best of show honors with classmates Kathleen Flores and Nancy Medina Valdez also from Kennett High School. Flores and Valdez took second and third place, respectively.

Val Stetler Named CAT Pickering's November Student of the Month

Chester County Technical College High School is accepting applications for 2008-09

West Grove, Pa - The Chester County Technical College High School, Pennsylvania’s first hybrid career and technical high school/community college, is now accepting applications for high school students in grades nine through 12.

CAT Brandywine Practical Nursing Program turns 50

Coatesville, PA - The Practical Nursing program officially turns 50 on November 1, 2007. The Center for Arts & Technology Practical Nursing Program began in 1957 at the Chester County Hospital, back then, it was affiliated with the West Chester State Teachers College.

Ashley Day named CAT Pickering's Student of the Month for September 2007

The faculty of the Center for Arts & Technology are proud to announce that Ashley Day has been named student of the month for September 2007. Ashley, a senior in the cosmetology program, was selected on the basis of her continued demonstration of leadership, school spirit, academic and occupational achievement and community service.
