CAT Pickering Grad is no. 1 in the state!

Phoenixville, PA, July 1, 2009 – Brett Wesson has been interested in carpentry for as long as he can remember. Those who know him say they have never been aware of anyone who is as passionate about, and who loves every aspect of carpentry as much as he does.

John Branson named PAIU employee of the year!

Downingtown, PA- The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is getting connected thanks to the dedication and leadership of Dr. John P. Branson, director of Educational Research, Development and Technology for the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). Over the past three years, Branson has worked tirelessly to make the Pennsylvania statewide, high-speed educational network, known as PAIUnet, a reality for the commonwealth’s 501 school districts and 29 intermediate units.

COATESVILLE, PA - Cheers of encouragement and congratulations filled the gymnasium of the Child Development Center as students tried and succeeded in getting their ball in the basket during the school’s recent fund raiser, Hoops for Hearts. In addition, to raising their self-esteem, students also raised nearly $1,500 for the American Heart Association.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA - Four alumni of the Center for Arts & Technology (CAT) Pickering Campus were recently inducted into the 2009 Hall of Fame. Among this year’s recipients were three local business owners and a vice president of operations. They were Michael Fedin, class of 1976; Dennis March, class of 1978; Gary Miller, class of 1984; and Ian Thompson, class of 1990.

DOWNINGTOWN, PA, February 10, 2009 — Teams from nine Chester County schools came to the Chester County academic competition semi-finals prepared and eager to showcase their knowledge on an assortment of subjects. Three of those teams will now advance to the Chester County championship match with the hopes of representing Chester County in the Pennsylvania State Academic Competition.

Chester County Head Start receives national accreditation

Downingtown, PA - The Chester County Head Start was recognized for its outstanding work and innovative practices recently when its Downingtown center was awarded accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
