Videoconferencing

The CCIU provides professional development and instruction on the use of videoconferencing equipment as well as incorporating videoconferencing into instructional practices.

Internet2 Programming

Internet2 is the foremost U.S. advanced networking consortium. Led by the research and education community since 1996, Internet2 promotes the missions of its members by providing both leading-edge network capabilities and unique partnership opportunities that together facilitate the development, deployment and use of revolutionary Internet technologies.

By bringing research and academia together with technology leaders from industry, government and the international community, Internet2 promotes collaboration and innovation that has a fundamental impact on the future of the Internet.

Chester County school districts can take advantage of this programming through our partnership with MAGPI (our Internet2 partner).

Online Learning

CCIU has chosen Moodle as it’s online learning platform. This open-source software is designed using a constructivist model, which allows administrators, teachers and students to create robust learning environments.

All CCIU online professional development is built in the Moodle platform, enhanced by other on-line learning tools such as Elluminate web-conferencing. Professional development on the use of Moodle is available in on-line and face-to-face formats.

CCIU's Moodle team promotes several different models of on-line instruction:

  • Completely online with asynchronous facilitator support;
  • a Blended model using synchronous meetings and independent course work; and
  • a Face-to-face model where an instructor provides supplemental on-line resources that support their face-to-face instruction.
