Thank you to the 350 eighth graders from Penn's Grove Middle School for visiting TCHS on Friday, November 22 for an afternoon of career exploration. Oxford students rotated through their top-choice programs and completed hands-on activities alongside current TCHS students in each classroom.
Some baked cookies in Culinary Arts, mastered the proper hammer-and-nail technique in Carpentry and met Bobby the cat in Animal Science & Technology. Others checked out the underbelly of a car in Auto Service and the inside of a monitor in Computer Information Systems, took blood pressure in Health Career Academy and narrowed down the suspects with fingerprinting in Criminal Justice. That is just a small sampling of the skills these eighth graders picked up during their visit, and for many it sparked an interest that just may develop into a career.
We hope to see some of these Penn's Grove faces again when they return as TCHS students in the next few years! Click here for more details and opportunities to tour!
