  • Creating a School Culture of Equity for All

    This program offers educational leaders multiple opportunities to grow their understanding of how adverse childhood experiences, the impact of implicit bias and student anxiety affect student success. Through collaborative study and discourse on research-based practices, participants learn how cultural responsiveness, positive psychology and trauma-informed practices can lead to creating positive schools that reduce the risk factors associated with low academic achievement.

    At the October 24 kick-off meeting, author and education leader Jimmy Casas will share his insights into what it takes to cultivate a community of learners and strategies on how to reach disengaged students and ensure learners feel cared for, empowered and inspired to be their best.

  •  Engineering Effective STEAM Leadership

    School leaders face a unique challenge in their schools as they strive to build a culture for STEAM education, build equitable access to STEAM opportunities for their students, and connect STEAM stakeholders in their communities. This course is designed to help school leaders meet these challenges. 

    Participants will attend two full days (12 hours) of professional learning. They will also be expected to complete two (2) hours of online learning and sixteen (16) hours of job-embedded assignments.

  • Technology Leadership that Increases Student Achievement

    This course is based on the recognized work of Consortium for School Networking (CoSN). The course incorporates two resources: Become a Highly Capable School System Technology Leader; and the Framework for Essential Skills of a CTO. Administrators will explore three big ideas (Leadership & Vision, Understanding the Educational Environment and Managing Technology & Resources) and focus on five key concepts (Leadership & Vision, Strategic Planning, Instructional Focus & Professional Development, Team Building & Staffing, and Communication Systems) as they review research on the link between technology leadership and student achievement.

  • Gifted Services That Positively Impact Student Achievement

    Fully Online (30 PIL Hours) 

    This course will examine the legal responsibilities of school districts to support gifted students through the exploration of Chapter 16 regulations and timelines, gifted service delivery options of acceleration and enrichment, mediation and due process procedures, and gifted case law. Various screening and identification protocols will be investigated to determine the appropriateness of various assessments in determining giftedness.
