The Chester County Intermediate Unit Practical Nursing Program offers students a choice of the following program schedules, allowing students to select an option that works best for their needs:
1) Full-day, five days per week - New class starting Fall 2019 at Pickering and Winter 2019 at Downingtown!
For this option, classes will meet Monday through Friday at the Pickering location in Phoenixville. Class/clinical times vary between the hours of 7:00 AM-3:00 PM depending upon class level and clinical experience. All Learning Lab days will be at the Downingtown Campus.
2) Full-day, four days per week- New class starting November 2019!
This option is offered only at the West Grove Campus. Classes meet four days per week (no Saturday or Sunday). Class/clinical days of the week will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday unless clinical site availability necessitates a change. Students will be notified in advance. Class/clinical times vary between the hours of 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM depending upon class level and clinical experience.
3) Part-time, four evenings per week - New class starting December 2019!
This option is only offered at our Downingtown Campus. Level I classes/clinical times will be held from 5:30 to 10:30 PM every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. For Level II, III, and IV, students will have clinical and Learning Lab from 3:00 to 10:30 PM, two to three evenings per week. Class will remain 5:30 to 10:30 PM.
Clinical experience is concurrent and sequential with classroom instruction through the cooperation of local clinical site affiliation agreements held with the following sites amongst others: Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital, Pocopson Home, Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, Brandywine Hospital, Neighborhood Health Agencies, Department of Veterans Administration Medical Center, Kendal Crosslands and community clinical care experiences. Facilities represent various levels of care including acute care, sub-acute care, skilled care, home care and community based experiences.
*Based on impending State Board approval, students will attend class at TCHS Pickering in Phoenixville, with lab rotations at the PNP Downingtown campus.
