SOAR Credits

  • What is SOAR?
Students Occupationally and Academically Ready (SOAR) Programs of Study are career and technical education programs approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). SOAR establishes a transfer credit relationship between TCHS and up to 42 PA colleges, Allegany College of Maryland and SUNY.

High school students enrolled in SOAR programs can earn free college credits as a result of partnerships between high schools and post-secondary institutions (universities, technical colleges, etc.). These post-secondary institutions may offer as many as 12 free credits — that’s a free semester of college courses!

    Benefits:
     •  Saving money on college tuition
     •  Saving time by shortening time spent in college
     •  Getting on the right career pathway
     •  Entering the job market ready
