The strength of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is within its parts. The CCIU is able to serve its mission by its multi-division structure, each meeting a specific need within the community. Together the divisions, schools and programs outlined below work to enhance the lives of students and members of our communities.
While handling many of the financial and operational aspects of the CCIU, including accounts payable and receivable, contracts and budgeting, Administrative Services also handles all CCIU facility planning and management, the Chester County School District's Joint Purchasing Board, student transportation for CCIU special education students, food service for all CCIU schools and programs and the CCIU Conference Center.
Career, Technical and Customized Education:
The CTCE division runs the three campuses of the Technical College High School, a part-time, high school program aimed at providing students the skills, knowledge and confidence to pursue their future in a career or postsecondary environment. CTCE also runs the Practical Nursing Program, as well as a number of additional adult education programs.
Communications & Learning Solutions:
From media relations to website and social presence to electronic and print communication materials, the Communications team works to keep the community aware of the many programs and services the CCIU provides, but this division also engages directly with students through a number of countywide student events as well as the Brandywine Virtual Academy, an online learning solution for district partners.
While focused primarily on the internal personnel functions of the CCIU, this division also provides a number of services to our local school districts including recruiting consortiums and services, training, and joint purchasing opportunities.
The IT division works hard to not only maintain the inner technology workings of the CCIU, but also in many instances they serve as the technology backbone for a number of CCIU programs such as Brandywine Virtual Academy, Therapy Connect and Preschool Online.
Innovative Educational Services:
The IES division is committed to empowering all learners through an extensive range of services including district technology and networking, curriculum consultation and training, professional development for educators, the Teacher Center and a number of student-focused events and activities.
As the largest division within the CCIU, Student Services' expansive listing of programs and services works to provide the help students of all ages may need to be successful citizens in the community. In addition to the many programs taking place throughout the County in homes, schools and community centers, Student Services also runs the Child and Career Development Center and the Learning Center.
