• Innovation Lending Library

  • Experiment with cutting-edge, innovative technology equipment available for loan from CCIU's catalog. From robotics to programming languages to engineering challenges, you can incorporate STEM opportunities for students across all curricula without the expense of purchasing your own devices and kits. You'll also network with colleagues in the library about their integration of technology and creative ideas.

    Educators are invited to borrow items from the library following participation in one or more of the following Innovation Lending Library Workshops:

    • Video Production and Design for the STEM Classroom: Unleash student creativity and independence while building communication skills necessary for future careers through video production. Explore ways to foster a culture of storytelling in your classroom that will engage all learners through different aspects of filming, editing and sharing video. Participants will receive a green screen.
    • Student-Centered Learning Through Design Thinking PBL: Guide your students to dive deeper through engaging activities that foster student inquiry and authentic real-world learning. Join us for a day of excitement, fun and hands-on learning. Participants will receive a copy of “Hacking PBL” and an Ozobot.

    • CS for Classrooms: Classroom Instruction with Raspberry Pi: Teachers will learn how to use the Raspberry Pi to develop STEM activities and how the Pi can be integrated into the classroom. Participants will take home a Raspberry Pi Kit.

    • Drones 101: Getting Started with Drones: In this workshop, we will outline how to get started with drones in your school, demonstrate ways drones can transform your students’ learning and explore the possibilities of drones and drone technologies through a variety of hands-on coding experiences. Participants will receive a Mambo Parrot drone.

    • Learning Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality Experiences: Guide your students to create their own worlds, museums and games. Learn to transform student learning by taking virtual field trips and challenging students to create in three-dimensional space. Participants will receive a Merge Cube and a Merge Augmented Reality/ Virtual Reality headset.
