Computer science is an essential skill for the 21st-century workforce. In addition, computer science jobs are one of the fastest growing professions in Pennsylvania’s economy, with 18,000+ unfilled positions and a projected growth of up to 26% annually. The Chester County Intermediate Unit strives to be at the forefront of computer science education in Pennsylvania and works to support Local Education Associations (LEAs) as they develop their own vision and goals for growing computer science.
The CCIU believes all students should have equal access to rigorous computer science education in order to be prepared for the growing field of the 21st-century workforce. Extensive professional learning opportunities are provided to LEAs in order to expand the current work the LEA is doing in STEM and computer science education.
