From in-school support to partial hospitalization to behavioral health wraparound services, the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) works alongside families and schools to assist students in prevailing over the challenges of behavioral and mental health disorders.
Options & Career Academy

The Chester County Learning Center encompasses two separate and distinct strands of service delivery that includes Options, a program serving students who experience emotional and behavioral difficulties as well as the Career Academy, a vocational training program serving students with a variety of disabilities who are interested in developing pre-vocational and vocational skills.

Gateway

Gateway offers middle school and high school emotional support programming with smaller academic and elective classroom environments and access to mental health supports. The high school program encourages participation in career and technical education for those students who are interested.
Age Range of Students: 12 - 19

Location for Grades 9 - 12: Downingtown, West Grove, and Phoenixville, PA

REACH & TEACH

The Reach Program is a school-based, licensed partial hospitalization program that provides mental health treatment and education for students grades 9-12 who have been diagnosed with significant mental health disorders. Student voluntarily participate in intensive group and individual therapy provided by licensed clinicians. Psychiatric services include assessment, treatment and medication management.
The TEACH Program is a school-based, intensive therapeutic program that provides mental health treatment and education for students grades 3-12 who have been diagnosed with significant mental health disorders. Students voluntarily participate in intensive group and individual therapy provided by licensed clinicians. Psychiatric services include assessment, treatment and medication management.

Changes

Changes is a licensed drug and alcohol treatment program that provides intensive outpatient and partial hospital level of intervention to adolescents who are not succeeding in a traditional high school setting due to substance abuse. The goal of the program is to provide students with the skills to maintain sobriety, achieve academic success, succeed in the workplace, transition into the community and return to their regular school setting.
