CHAAMP is a community-based program where students with autism use the community as their classroom. Working with specialized staff, in a classroom facility designed specifically for their unique needs, students with moderate to severe autism build the skills to transition from school to adult, independent life.
Our goal at CHAAMP is to identify community resources that will provide functionally relevant opportunities for life skills and vocational skills instruction.
The program features:
- Functional life skills
- Communication skills, and
- Social skills.
Community Experiences in local businesses and organizations develop:
- A positive work ethic
- An ability to navigate the community
- Social skills, and
- offer learning experiences that help students function independently in society.
