• Each year, over 475 economically disadvantaged children in Chester County participate in Head Start. Head Start supports families living at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Currently, the CCIU operates nine Head Start centers throughout the county. They are located in Coatesville, Downingtown, Kennett Square, Oxford, Octorara, Phoenixville, West Chester, and Jennersville. Head Start is operated by the Chester County Intermediate Unit.
