The Technical College High School (TCHS) is accepting applications for the current and upcoming school year. Students in grades 9-12 attending a public or private school in Chester County are encouraged to apply!Apply Online. Applications are accepted throughout the school year for enrollment in the fall and spring semesters. Students may complete an application online. The application takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. Following the submission, the TCHS Admissions Team will acquire a student's grades, attendance, disciplinary record, teacher recommendations and more. Apply today!Visit the Campus. We encourage all interested students and their families to visit the school. Seeing the classrooms and equipment and meeting the teachers is an important step in the decision-making process. Students and parents can tour the school by attending one of our multiple Open House events throughout the year (check the calendar to find the next Open House date). The CareerScope Occupational Assessment is an interest and aptitude assessment that is aligned with Federal Department of Labor standards. Students and school counselors are given the results that highlight the occupations for which the student has shown high interest and aptitude. By understanding a student's strengths, he/she can focus on choosing a TCHS program that provides better opportunities for success. The CareerScope is required prior to acceptance to the Technical College High School.Check your application status. After you have applied, you can check your application status using the Self-Service Center. Admission decisions are published online in mid-April. If you applied to start during the current school year, you will receive an admission decision sooner. Typically, students applying to start immediately receive a decision within 3 weeks of the application submission date. Decision letters can be accessed in the Self-Service Center.Need to Appeal? If a school board refuses a student admission, he/she may apply to the State Board for Vocational Education (SBVE) for admission to such school or department. The SBVE may approve or deny the application. In making such decisions, the SBVE shall take into consideration the opportunities of free vocational training in the community in which the applicant resides, the financial status of the community, the age, preparation, aptitude and previous record of the applicant and all other relevant circumstances. The decision for the SBVE shall be final.
