In the municipal policing field, officers may progress through the ranks from corporal to captain or police chief. In the security technology field, individuals may follow a formal or informal apprenticeship through which they progress from security and fire alarm installation assistant to master technician. You can also be a certified protection officer, electronic security technician, homeland security field agent, law enforcement officer, loss prevention specialist, surveillance or physical security technician, closed circuit TV installer or insurance fraud investigator.
