Online Education With Your District

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS

  • Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) could be your child’s personal solution. BVA supports students in grades K-12 and offers a wide range of computer-based courses that students take online. BVA was created to provide schools with the resources and flexibility to serve students who wish to learn online. Our comprehensive program combines the personal attention and local perspective of your local school district with the content, tools and services available from a variety of the top national online providers, allowing students to stay in the district while offering an array of learning opportunities.

While at BVA, students can participate in district events, sports, extracurricular activities, or even an in-person music, art, or lab science class if their schedule permits. Students who complete the commonwealth's graduation requirements with Brandywine Virtual Academy will receive their diploma from their public or private district partners.

Why Choose BVA?

LOCAL, HIGHLY-QUALIFIED PENNSYLVANIA TEACHERS
The attention and personalization expected of classroom teachers from Kindergarten to high school is what you will find in the BVA online teaching staff. Our local, highly-qualified, PA-certified teachers are invested in your child's success.

PERSONAL LEARNING COACH
In addition to our K-12 classroom teachers, your student will work directly with a personal learning coach (PLC). PLCs help students stay on track and achieve success in the online learning environment. Students and families are provided weekly reports on work completion and time on task to monitor student progress.

CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
Through a variety of in-person events and learning opportunities, BVA strives to remove the distance created by the computer. And because you remain in the district, students can also continue to participate in district sports and activities.

CURRICULUM CHOICES
BVA offers over 400 courses for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Students can complete courses from home, a school-based classroom or other location with internet access. All courses are aligned with BVA curriculum and students may access to all of the district's in-person classes as well!

FLEXIBILITY
One advantage of online learning is flexibility. When you enroll in BVA classes, you will be able to study and review course materials during your own time. BVA allows students to more easily balance school, work, family responsibilities and cocurricular and after-school activities. Our program helps your student build time-management skills.

SUPPORTIVE
To ensure students and their families succeed in the online learning environment, BVA has multiple supports in place throughout the learning process. Both teachers and PLCs are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. BVA is ready to provide all required technology for students with on-demand technical support.
