Student Services: Using Google Classroom

  • On Thursday, March 26, 2020, the CCIU is hosting a full-day professional staff development program focused on preparing Student Services professional staff to provide students with online planned instruction through Google Classroom. As always, we appreciate your patience and flexiblity as we work together to navigate the changes and needs of our educators, students and families during this time. 

    Although we are aware that Student Services staff have participated in a Zoom-related training recently, we have laid out instructions below in case anyone is still having issues with the platform or any other technical difficulties. 

    CCIU Zoom Professional Learning Instructions:

    • As you prepare for the day's programming, please visit the detailed agenda pages for Thursday, March 26 listed on the side navigation on this page or by clicking the date listed in this sentence. 

    • You have been assigned a strand of programming based on appropriate grade levels. Your specific programming will help to ensure that you get the most out of this professional instruction and have a clear understanding of which sessions you are expected to join throughout the day. 

         Please ask your immediate supervisor which strand you have been assigned if you are unsure!

    • Throughout the day, you will click on the link for the appropriate time and session within your strand. Again, to access the schedule for the day and the links to join the Zoom sessions, click Thursday, March 26 listed on the side navigation on this page or by clicking the date listed in this sentence. 

    • To effectively participate in the Zoom sessions your computer/device will need to have a microphone and speakers. If you do not have a device available to you, contact your immediate supervisor AND submit a help desk ticket at:

    • You DO NOT need your own Zoom room to participate; all participants will use the Zoom links that are provided in the schedule for each session. However, you will need to have Zoom on your computer.
