Autism Spectrum Disorders Endorsement

About

Through a partnership between Chester County Intermediate Unit and Neumann University, you can now pursue this fully online endorsement.

This program prepares teachers and other certified school personnel to develop the skills and proficiency required to educate the increasing number of students in today’s schools being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The program provides appropriate assessment and research-based strategies with an emphasis on skill development and behavioral modification for students of all ages who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

 

Details

  • Four 3-credit courses, a total of 12-credits.
  • Each course has a required 20-hour field component.
  • Fieldwork helps students connect course content in an experiential learning setting. ​
  • The endorsement can be applied to Neumann University's MS Education Online degree.

  • SPEC 547 Foundations of Autism Spectrum Disorders 
  • SPEC 549 Instructional Strategies and Curriculum for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders 
  • SPEC 550 Assessment and Instructional Planning for Students with Autism 
  • SPEC 551 Collaborative Relationships for Students with Autism
