Through a partnership between the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) and West Chester University, you can take the next step in your career as an educational leader by earning the certificate needed to be a superintendent or assistant superintendent! West Chester University (WCU) and the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) are partnering to provide a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility (LoE) program, endorsed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, that will prepare you to lead a school district during a time of change and complexity.
Earn your Graduate Certificate in Advanced Educational Leadership from WCU and your LoE certification through the CCIU in less than one year! This fully online four-course (12-credit) program will provide you with experience using strategic decision-making skills through both theoretical and practical experiences. Learn how to develop your strengths to have a greater impact as a school district leader.

- 4 courses (12 credits) that are 7 weeks each
- 45 hours of field experience per course
- Fully virtual courses
- Wednesday nights (2 courses in Fall and 2 courses in Spring)
- Earn your certificate in as little as 2 semesters

- EDD 750: Strategic and Cultural Leadership (3 Credits)
- EDD 751: Systems Leadership (3 Credits)
- EDD 752: Leadership for Learning (3 Credits)
- EDD 753: Professional and Community Leadership (3 Credits)
Results:
- A stand-alone certificate or embedded within the Ed.D. in Policy, Planning, and Administration
- Apply for the PA Department of Education Letter of Eligibility through Chester County Intermediate Unit
