The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is a conditional partner of the national network of Wilson® Accredited Training Partners. As a conditional Wilson® Accredited Training Partner, the CCIU is able to provide professional learning and support of Wilson® research-based multisensory, structured reading and spelling programs for all ages which assists teachers in becoming proficient at teaching structured literacy. These hands-on professional learning programs are delivered by a Wilson® Credentialed Trainer.
2024-25 CCIU Wilson Language Course Offerings
Wilson Reading System(WRS) 3-Day Introductory Course
This 16.5-hour course provides participants with an overview of the Wilson Reading System (WRS) and serves as the prerequisite for WRS Level I Certification Training. This course examines the intensive intervention reading instruction necessary for students in grades two and above with persistent and significant phonological-coding deficits. Participants explore the standard ten-part WRS Lesson Plan and practice planning, delivering, and individualizing a WRS Lesson while receiving modeling and feedback from a Wilson® Credentialed Trainer (W.C.T.).

WRS Level I Certification
The Wilson Reading System (WRS) Level I Certification program is designed to prepare teachers to effectively implement Steps 1-6 of the WRS with students who are reading and spelling below grade level and those diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities. This path to WRS Level I Certification involves online coursework and live, web practicum observations with a Credentialed Trainer;
