PA Superintendent Study Council (PA-SSC)
The PA Superintendent Study Council is a professional learning network of superintendents that has operated previously as the Suburban Schools Study Council over forty years, facilitating leadership development through regular meetings, site visits to exemplary educational programs, and collaborative initiatives, while also offering an approved Act 45 (PIL) program that enables members to earn professional credits.

The PA Superintendent Study Council is a regionally based professional learning council composed of active and retired superintendents. It provides a space for superintendents to reflect on their leadership roles, exchange ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue within the context of their own districts. Through this network, members strengthen communication, problem-solving, and the exploration of innovative educational programs.
Council members take turns hosting meetings that showcase successful local educational programs and practices. These site visits offer participants a firsthand look at effective programs in action and often inspire collaborative initiatives that connect school leaders across the region. The PA Superintendent Study Council is a powerful vehicle for sharing best practices and promoting educational excellence.
Act 45 (PIL) Program
The Pennsylvania Department of Education recognizes the PA Superintendent Study Council as an Act 45 Professional Inquiry and Learning (PIL) program. Members can earn 48 Act 45 (PIL) credits by documenting evidence from site visits and coaching sessions, supporting both professional growth and leadership development.
