Build Your Trade Pre-Apprenticeship Program (10th grade students)

The Build Your Trade Pre-Apprenticeship program is open to 10th grade Carpentry, Electrical Occupations and HVAC students at all three TCHS campuses. It is a three-year program where students can earn industry certifications and 72.5 hours of credit towards a registered apprenticeship program after graduation.

To receive the state-registered, nationally recognized pre-apprenticeship credential, students must maintain TCHS enrollment, be in good standing with their program with regular attendance and task list completion, uphold a minimum of 2.5 GPA until graduation, complete three years of training with their current CTE program and complete a minimum of 20 on-the-job training hours in construction projects.

Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Program (11th & 12th grade students)

The Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship program is open to 11th and 12th grade Carpentry, Electrical Occupations, HVAC and Electromechanical Engineering students at all three TCHS campuses. It is a one-year program that provides students with the opportunity to explore high-demand STEM careers before graduating and entering the workforce.

Students can earn OSHA 10 certification and 64 hours of credit towards a registered apprenticeship program after graduation. To receive the state-registered, nationally recognized pre-apprenticeship credential, students must attend all Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship classes, maintain TCHS enrollment and be in good standing with their CTE program.

Early Childhood Education Pre-Apprenticeship (10th, 11th, & 12th grade students)

The Early Childhood Education Pre-Apprenticeship is open to 10^th through 12^th grade students in Early Childhood Care and Education Program in all three TCHS campuses. 

Students must complete all associated tasks with the Child Development Associate Credential and be “CDA Ready” for observation and testing.  In addition, students will complete college coursework and/or take advantage of articulation agreements to earn free college credit.  Finally, students will participate in co-operative education experiences, being paid to work in the field while still in high school.  These experiences will provide advanced standing to one of two apprenticeship programs for further education and work.

Dairy Laborer Pre-Apprenticeship Program (11th & 12th grade students)

The Dairy Laborer Pre-Apprenticeship Program is offered to 11^th and 12^th grade students in Animal Science and Veterinary Science at all three TCHS Campuses.

Students complete two Dairy Leaders of Tomorrow courses (Intro to Dairy and Dairy Herd Management) and an OSHA 10 General Industry Agriculture online course.  

In addition, the Pre-Apprentices complete four-hour shadowing experiences on two different dairy farms in Pennsylvania. Finally, students visit the local CareerLink and participate in an intake session to register for support in job search and further training.

Students can then enter an apprenticeship programs with several employers in Pennsylvania for further training while working.

Registered Restaurant Pre-Apprenticeship Program (students ages 17+)

The Registered Restaurant Pre-Apprenticeship is open to all students 17 years or older in Culinary or Baking and Pastry in all three TCHS campuses.

Students complete on-line coursework and certifications to earn Line Cook and/or Kitchen Manager certifications.  Stipends are paid to students through the program and additional training is available for advanced skills.  Finally, students are able to join the apprenticeship programs for higher level certifications and advanced career positions.
