Behavioral and mental health services, supporting students' wellbeing and success From in-school support to partial hospitalization to behavioral health wraparound services, the Chester County Intermediate Unit works alongside families and schools to assist students in prevailing over the challenges of behavioral and mental health disorders.

Advanced Clinical Services

Advanced Clinical Services (ACS) features comprehensive, evidence-based services to assess, diagnose and treat students with complex behaviors and related mental health disorders. The program compliments existing services, while also expanding to include additional behavioral support options. ACS is led by a team of highly trained professionals including licensed psychologists, board certified behavior analysts, mental health specialists, and case managers. Our continuum of services will address the needs of students presenting with extreme behavioral challenges.

Psychological Services

Technical and direct service psychological assistance is offered to districts through a team of highly trained and experienced psychologists.
School psychological services include diagnostic, consultative, intervention and support services for students aged three to 21 years old, who are enrolled in regular and special education. Services are provided to both public and non-public schools. School psychological services may include participation in multidisciplinary evaluations, special education program planning and provision, as well as direct intervention when education plans require the provision of related psychological services or behavioral support.

Home & Community Services

Home & Community Services (H&CS) assists clients in increasing socially appropriate behaviors that will maximize their potential, facilitate independence and self-advocacy and promote healthy, functional relationships. We utilize evidence-based behavioral management practices (Applied Behavior Analysis), specialized instruction design and the natural support systems available in the home, school and community.

Intensive Behavioral Health ServicesH&CS provides services to clients via Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS), specialized instruction and home and community services through the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). Services are offered in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Lancaster, Lebanon and Bucks Counties
