Mr. Chip Harper

Mr. Chip Harper serves as the supervisor of online learning and Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) principal at the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). He has been a dedicated and visionary educator, administrator and supervisor for 20 years, and has been working in the cyber education field since 2004. This is Mr. Harper's sixth year leading BVA's online learning community of students and their families. In his role at BVA, Mr. Harper focuses on student success and learning by working with teachers, staff and district partners to customize the learning program to meet the needs of every student and parent. 

Mr. Harper received his bachelor's of elementary education and bible studies from Cairn University and his master's in educational leadership from the University of Scranton.

Dr. Mark Slider

Dr. Mark Slider serves as the supervisor of online learning of BVA at the CCIU. In his role, Dr. Slider blends his extensive experience in traditional, virtual and blended educational settings with innovative and visionary leadership to ensure that students and families succeed. He focuses on curriculum, instruction, professional development, NCAA compliance, career readiness, educational initiatives at the state and federal level and supporting district partner relationships with our suburban districts. Dr. Slider is passionate about building relationships in order to create a family-centered working environment. Dr. Slider’s specialties include educational leadership, cyber education, curriculum design and development, backward design and strategic planning.

In addition to his work at the CCIU, he is also an adjunct professor and dissertation advisor at Gwynedd Mercy University and a dissertation chair at Immaculata University. Recently, Dr. Slider has presented at iNACOL, the Drexel University Symposium on Virtual Learning and has also presented at the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators Symposium. Dr. Slider earned his doctorate in educational administration from Immaculata University.

Mrs. Kristin Kotler

Kristin Kotler serves as the assistant supervisor of online learning at BVA for the elementary level at the CCIU. Her teaching and leadership experience with diverse populations in grades K-12 across traditional, virtual and community organization settings drives her desire to empower students to reach their potential. She is a student-centered, dynamic and visionary leader in supporting families in all settings, especially online learning. Kristin is passionate about establishing relationships with families and staff as well as curriculum and program development. 

Kristin received her bachelor of arts in elementary education and special education from Eastern University and her master's in educational leadership from Wilmington University.

Mr. Bryan Narwich

Bryan Narwich serves as the assistant supervisor of online learning at BVA for the secondary level at the CCIU. Mr. Narwich began his teaching career in 2010 at Temple University and continued at West Chester East High School before beginning at Brandywine Virtual Academy in 2014. During his tenure at BVA, he taught chemistry, physics, and earth & space science and served as a building representative for the CCIU Education Association. His wide array of experience working with students at all academic levels in both traditional and online formats has uniquely prepared him to support students, families, educators and communities in his role as an assistant supervisor.

Bryan earned a bachelor’s degree in both Geosystems and Earth and Space Science Education from West Chester University, and a Master's in Geology at Temple University. He most recently earned a Master's in Educational Leadership from California University of Pennsylvania in 2020.

Mr. Kevin Ballisty

Hello, and welcome to BVA! My name is Kevin Ballisty and I am the BVA operations manager. As the operations manager, I work closely with the student support liaisons and teaching assistants to help coordinate the best support for our students. Over the past 13 years, I have worked in education, most recently for Delaware County Community College and the Chester County Intermediate Unit.

As a former certified teacher in social studies, history and civics, teaching has always been a passion of mine. I will occasionally teach college business classes in the evenings and always welcome and enjoy the opportunity to connect with all students.
