• The Pennsylvania State Health Law requires each child entering school for the first time to have the following immunizations before school begins:

     

    ·  Tetanus: 4 doses (1 dose on or after the 4th birthday)

    ·  Diphtheria: 4 doses (1 dose on or after the 4th birthday)

    ·  Polio: 3 doses

    ·  Measles: 2 doses given after 12 months of age

    ·  Mumps: 2 doses

    ·  Rubella (German measles): 1 dose given after 12 months of age

    ·  Hepatitis B: 3 doses

    ·  Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine: 2 doses given after 12 months of age or verification that child has had chicken pox

    The immunization requirements are a condition of attendance at any public, private, or parochial school in Pennsylvania. Parents will be expected to produce evidence of the immunizations. Legislation enacted by the state of Pennsylvania on April 11, 1974, amended on May 28, 2010, and effective on August 1, 2011.
