Kimberly Davis Scholarship Winner

Kimberly Davis, student nurse in the CCIU Practical Nursing Program, is on the left in the photo.

Annually the Brandywine Health Foundation awards the Martha and Duane Bohlayer Nursing Scholarship to a Chester County Intermediate Unit Practical Nursing student.  This year the foundation awarded the James and Miquette Cox Nursing Scholarship as well to nursing student Kimberly Davis.  Davis says, “I take great pride in being a mom, nursing assistant, and becoming the best nurse I can be.  I want to gain all the knowledge and skill I can to further my education and career to help all those I can.”  Davis will complete her education in November 2016.

The Bohlayer family established the scholarship in 2007 to be awarded annually to a student of the practical nursing program who exhibits financial need and exemplifies the qualities of compassion and dedication to the welfare of others, a principal guide in the lives of those it honors.  Jennifer McNeil established the fund for the James and Miquette Cox Nursing Scholarship in appreciation of the care provided to her late father by the nursing staff at Brandywine Hospital.  Since then her mother, Miquette, passed and was added to the fund.

Congratulations Kimberly Davis on receiving a $1,000 scholarship from the Martha and Duane Bohlayer Nursing Scholarship fund and $1,000 from the James and Miquette Cox Nursing Scholarship fund.
