Considering a career in healthcare?

If you have been thinking about a career in health care, two of the biggest questions that you may encounter are how will you pay for it and what do you need to do before being accepted? Navigating the world of financial aid and entrance exams can be difficult, so we have provided you with some resources to help make this process easier.

One advantage of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) as a way to enter into the health care is that it takes less time and costs less than enrolling in a Registered Nurse (RN) program, while still giving you the potential to become an RN in the future. So if you are looking for a faster, more affordable way to break into health care, becoming an LPN might be the perfect opportunity for you!

LPN’s are medical professionals who have completed a program, sometimes in as little as 12 months, culminating in passing the national licensure exam (NCLEX-PN). LPNs are often frontline caregivers in nursing homes, extended and skilled care facilities, rehabilitation centers and community settings.

As a regionally recognized LPN program for over 60 years, we have put together a three step process for enrolling in our LPN program!

Step 1: Apply

The first step towards your future as an LPN begins with applying to our program! To apply, visit our application page and select the campus and any relevant full-time or part-time designations that may apply.

Step 2: Pre-Admission Testing

After a candidate's application has been accepted, the next part of the process is to pass the ATI TEAS Test. This is a nationally recognized exam that measures basic academic skills - Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, Science and English, and to help predict success in a nursing program. We know testing can be intimidating, but don’t worry, we’ve pulled together a library of resources including test-taking tips, study guides and practice questions to help maximize your success!

Step 3: Financial Aid and Scholarship Exploration

Once a candidate has successfully applied, been accepted and passed the TEAS test, the next step in the process is to explore financial aid opportunities! Students in our program may be eligible for up to 100% coverage of tuition. Review the financial aid process. In addition to financial aid, there are some scholarship opportunities and education benefits available for veterans. You can also find a complete list of our program costs.

If you are interested in taking the first step towards becoming an LPN, our Practical Nursing Program would be a great way for you to fast-track a career into the health care field!
