CCIU Celebrates Autism Awareness and Acceptance Week

Join us for Autism Awareness and Acceptance Week as we celebrate individuals with visible and hidden disabilities and explore resources to foster positive interactions within our community. Taking place on April 8 -12, 2024, Autism Awareness and Acceptance Week is a time to celebrate neurodiversity, promote understanding and advocate for acceptance.

1 in 36 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the United States alone. It's crucial to raise awareness and create a more inclusive world for individuals on the spectrum.

Here's how you can get involved:

Celebrate Successes: Witness the incredible accomplishments of individuals on the autism spectrum and those with other visible and hidden disabilities. From academic achievements to artistic talents, let's celebrate their unique strengths and contributions.

Explore Resources: Discover a wealth of resources aimed at promoting understanding, acceptance, and positive interactions for all community members. From inclusive education materials to sensory-friendly environments, we're here to support you in creating a more inclusive world.

Connect with Others: Engage in meaningful conversations with fellow community members, educators, and advocates to exchange ideas and strategies for fostering positive interactions.

Together, let's celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and create a more welcoming community for individuals of all abilities.
