Dear Team CCIU, 

I am so happy to have all of our staff back together in our buildings today! Once again, I know this is not the start of the school year we had hoped for, but if the past 18 months have proven anything, it is that we can achieve anything, and everything, together. Regardless, I know the 2021-22 school year is going to be our best year yet, and I know our staff will continue to rise through adversity to overcome any challenges thrown our way.  

I could not be prouder of our staff for the continuous support and enthusiasm you’ve all shown throughout these times. The unofficial slogan of the CCIU is the “Can Do IU;” however, we are so much more than that. We have already proven that together, we can do anything. This year, I challenge us all to shift our thinking from “can do” to “go to.” I am confident that as we continue to be the premier educational service agency in the state of Pennsylvania, we will be known as the “Go To IU.” The IU that educators, administrators, families and our community go to when they need help, guidance and reassurance that their students are getting the best possible education from our knowledgeable, caring and dedicated staff.  

Please know that to welcome you back, we have taken every precaution in accordance with the Chester County Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Rest assured, the health and well-being of our students and staff will continue to remain at the forefront of every decision we make. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to review and familiarize yourself with the CCIU’s 2021-22 Health & Safety Plan. 

Next week, our school districts will begin to send their students back into our schools, programs and classrooms. Our families and districts trust the CCIU, our teachers and our staff to keep everyone safe, and we are committed to making sure everyone has a healthy and positive start to the school year. As such, we will continually revisit our health and safety plans and procedures to ensure that we are following the most recent guidance from our state and county health departments.
