Dr. Fiore's Message dated March 16, 2020

Dear Parents, Staff and Community,

I hope everyone fared well during day one of Governor Wolf’s mandatory closing of schools. In addition to all schools being closed and expanded mitigation efforts and social distancing guidelines for MontgomeryDelawareChester and Bucks Counties; todaythe Governor ordered all non-essential services and business to close throughout the Commonwealth. These unprecedented actions really drive home the seriousness of the situation.

As a father of three school-aged children, I know that having your children home for two weeks, with nowhere to go, is extremely challenging not for only our kids, but for parents as well.

Our teachers and staff will be working the next several days to provide optional, supplemental educational materials to help provide activities to enrich and support your students’ learning while we are closed. These materials will be available online for your child beginning Friday, March 20. If you do not have access to online materials, please contact your child’s Principal or program supervisor. We wilmail requested materials directly to your home.

In addition, a number of educational subscription-based internet programs such as BrainPopBoardMaker and Coursera are offering free subscriptions during school closures. For a full listing, please visit Kidsactivitiesblog.com. The CCIU also launched this Coronavirus website that contains a resource section for parents with information, updates and links to online educational resources for students, and answers to frequently asked questions.
