Dr. Fiore's Message dated March 23, 2020
Dear CCIU Families, Staff and Community,
At approximately 2:00 p.m., the Governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, extended the mandatory closure of all schools in the Commonwealth for an additional two weeks; and, issued a “stay at home” order to slow the transmission of COVID-19. Therefore, I strongly urge you to practice social distancing and shelter in place as both of these practices will assist us in returning to our normal schedules as quickly as possible.
In compliance with the Governor's directive, all CCIU schools and buildings will remain closed. We plan on reopening our buildings on Wednesday, April 8 for staff, and Tuesday, April 14 for students.
Tomorrow, the CCIU will send more detailed information regarding student and staff schedules for the additional two weeks of the closure.
As this situation remains very fluid and our plans may need to be revised quickly, please monitor your CCIU staff and student email accounts. Updates and closure information regarding COVID-19 can also be found on our website at www.cciu.org/coronavirusresources
In closing, I am truly grateful for everyone’s flexibility throughout this time. Despite the closure, we will continue to operate and provide administrative and educational services as best we are able to remotely.
I cannot thank you enough for sticking with us through all of these unknowns and changes. This situation is new to us all, and I appreciate your continued support and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters. We will get through this together.
