This program offers workshops with nationally known presenters in education. Topics presented center on current trends, published works, and research-based strategies in education. Participants learn creative and instructional strategies easily adaptable to the classroom environment. Hours attended at these workshops may be applied toward Act 48 requirements.

 
Feeding and Swallowing Program- Itinerant

Speech-language pathologists and other specialists provide individualized assessment, intervention and consultation for students who have difficulty eating or swallowing. The team provides services to children from birth to age 21. Staff work with the school team to assure that the child receives food and drink that is tailored to his or her needs, implement accommodations, adaptive equipment and positioning. They also work to improved feeding and swallowing skills to maintain adequate nutrition to fully access the education curriculum.

CCIU provides FBI fingerprinting services to teachers and the community. Applicants must register with Identogo prior to visiting the Fingerprinting Services room at the CCIU Educational Services Center Building, 455 Boot Road, Downingtown, PA. Food Service Program

Food services provide breakfast, lunch, and/or snacks for students and staff located at the Child & Career Development Center; the Chester County Learning Center; the Chester County Technical College High School Brandywine, Pickering, and Pennock’s Bridge Campuses; the CARE, Changes, Reach and TEACH programs; and the Chester County Head Start centers. In addition, the Food Service program also provides meals to CCIU child care center located in Coatesville; and, operates a satellite program for the Family Academy Charter School in West Chester. CCIU offers a catering service at the Educational Service Center and off-site for meetings and events.
